Lungs Full of Song
As impressive and psychedelic as all of the albums done by Florence and the Machine are, Lungs truly there most stimulating album yet. The band has been fairly consistent with the quality of each album, but "Lungs" is definitely one of their finest. The songs of the "Lungs" album covers more emotions than the others, including the ones that couldn't be nailed down. On top of that, every song in the album has a great rhythm that matches the mood of the song perfectly whether it was lighthearted, sketchy, or flat out inspiriting. "Dog Days Are Over" with its inspiring message and fast paced beat and "Cosmic Love", a positively enchanting anthem are easily the more popular songs on the album, but some of the overlooked songs are just as meaningful. "Kiss With A Fist" is another fantastic song that is as fun as it is impish with its fast pace and somewhat sadistic lyrics. The humbling message and melancholy magic of "My Boy Builds Coffins" makes it another marvelous song from the "Lungs" album. It is no wonder why Florence and the Machine has such a great reputation for making electrifying and deep music. All four of these songs would leave any listener starstruck and that is the very reason why "Lungs" is the band's best album yet.
Matisyahu: "Youth" Album
Matisyahu's Album "Youth" is inspirational and brings a sense of hope and uprising to mankind. His rare and motivational music brings people together in a way that no other music has done before. The way he incorporates a wide spread variety of different musical options and combines them to create these wonderful pieces is nothing short of impressive. The song "Fire of Heaven/Alter Earth" is mind altering and gives you a sense of a different perception on life and how you look at it. Also, the song "Indestructible" is another breath taking work of art incorporating revolutionary aspects of the everyday life and revolting in Iran and making a wonderful song dedicated to those people in the struggle. As well, the song "What I'm Fighting For" was a break through in the uprising reggae genre. It not only brings hope, when listening to this guy, Matisyahu's beautiful singing and lyrics are so reassuring that struggle will not last and mankind will persevere. Matisyahu fuses the contemporary styles of reggae, rap, beat boxing, and hip-hop in general, with the more traditional vocal disciplines of jazz's scat singing and Judaism's hazzan style of songful prayer. Finally, I believe this music is revolutionary. It's going to change the world. Simply what this man is doing is incredible. What he stands for and how he uses his incredible skills of beat boxing, singing and how he passes his message along through this music, is amazing. His new album is said to be released in early June. Album title is unknown, but based on the variety incorporated in all of his other albums and the success of each, is enough for me, I know this album is going to be revolutionary.
